Why I love photography

I started my journey on photography just days after arriving to Canada for the first time.

My husband had a camera, a very nice camera but still entry level. I did not know anything about photography but once I took it on my hands, it was over.

The beautiful gardens around me were my first subjects and suddenly I felt that a whole new word was being presented to me. Well, literally coming from my country to Canada was a big change and everything was quite different. There were many things happening at the same time in my life, changes and new beginnings. And photography started to become part of me.

I often think of photography like a the door of a dimension that is hidden and is happening exactly at the same time than the reality that our senses are aware of. Photography is the time traveling machine that connects you with the past in one blink, bringing memories otherwise gone without an archive of images.

Photography saved me in one of my darkest times, during a long period of a painful condition helping me to be gone for a long period of time and totally submerged on the beauty of imageries.

But perhaps the most magical aspect of photography is its ability to stop time itself. In a world that's constantly in motion, photography allows me to freeze moments in time, capturing the essence of a single moment for eternity. Whether it's the laughter of a loved one or the vibrant colors of a flower, these moments are preserved forever, ready to be revisited whenever I need a reminder of life's beauty.

In essence, photography is my way of making sense of the world around me. It's a way of capturing the fleeting moments of life and preserving them for generations to come. Through the lens of my camera, I find joy, healing, and connection, a testament to the enduring power of art and creativity. And for that, I am forever grateful.
